Étienne Adrien Drian’s career began as an illustrator working for such notable publications as Gazette du Bon Ton, Femina, L’Illustration and Flirt. He was also a costume and set designer (Casino de Paris show) and an illustrator of books.
Essentially a painter of women, especially Parisian women, Drian often used his friend the actress Cecile Sorel as his model.
