Latenay, Gaston de
1859 – 1943
French
Largely self-taught, Gaston de Latenay’s œuvre shows the influence of many different schools and “isms” combined into his own unique style. Many of his works depict scenes of nature with elements of Japonism and almost always executed in soft colors. His etchings have an ethereal quality with a masterful use of light and almost appear to be watercolors.
