Evenepoel, Henri

1872 – 1899
French, Belgian

Henri Jacques Edouard Evenepoel was born in Belgium and began his artistic formation in Brussels. At the age of 20, he moved to Paris to continue his education studying with Gustave Moreau.

Never in robust health, Evenepoel traveled to Algeria hoping that the warmer climate would be beneficial. He died of a hemorrhage in Paris at the age of 25.

Although his prints are scarce, their composition and coloration make them very desirable with collectors.
