Trignac, Gérard
1955 –
French
Gérard Trignac is a contemporary French printmaker. Born in Bordeaux in 1955, he initially studied to become an architect before opting to pursue art as a career. His imagery is very distinct – realistically rendered imaginary scenes of places and buildings executed in etching, drypoint and burin. Though no human figure is in evidence, the presence of past inhabitants is haunting and the overall atmosphere is mysterious and beautiful.
